The offer of papers to be presented in the poster session is encouraged on the following topics:
  • Waste characterization as potential energy source (urban waste, agricultural waste, exhausted oils, scrap tyres etc.)
  • Thermal and biological waste to energy processes
  • Waste to energy: thermal technologies (incineration, gasification, pyrolysis, plasma etc.)
  • Waste to energy: biological technologies (anaerobic digestion, hydrogen and methane production)
  • RDF production and utilization
  • Control of emissions
  • Management and reuse of residues from waste to energy processes
  • Public concern and acceptance
  • Waste to energy in decentralized plants for small communities
  • Decision tools (risk analysis, life cycle assessment, environmental impact assessment)
  • Administrative aspects (costs, project financing).
