3rd meeting of the Advisory Forum of the Soil Thematic Strategy

The developments for the EU Soil Thematic Strategy runs into its final steps. On of these steps is the EU Soil Advisory Forum Meeting which takes place on Monday 19th of April in Brussels. Various ECN Members will participate. The Advisory Forum mandates the working programme and activities of the working groups. This meeting is the last one before the papers in the 5 EU Soil Working Groups will be finished.

Each of the five sessions below takes approximately one hour.
Each of the five sessions will be composed of:
Summary of Working Groups’ draft final results in particular recommendations: presented by working groups’ Chairs/Co-chairs
Targeted questions to the Forum
Discussion with the Advisory Forum on the draft final results: Assessment of draft final results, discussion and feedback from the Advisory Forum, including recommendations for future directions of the activities of the Working Groups.
The basis for assessing the draft final results from the Working Groups are the Mandates that have been consolidated during the 1st meeting of the Advisory Forum (Specific Mandates, Framework Mandate, Coordination and Planning Mandate)
Reports and targeted questions to the Forum will be made available on CIRCA 2 weeks before the meeting
Five Sessions on:
3.1. Erosion, salinisation, compaction, floods and landslides
3.2. Contamination

3.3. Organic matter and biodiversity
3.4. 1Research and sealing
Coffee: 15:45 - 16:00
3.5. Monitoring
4.Conclusions and closure: 17:45 – 18:00
5.Cocktail and buffet: 18:30 – 20:30
