The recovery of organic matter and its importance for energy, nutrient and humus supply has been selected as the focal point for ORBIT 2006. The reason is the increasing devastation of fertile land and the uncontrolled release of top soil on a world-wide basis. This leads to the loss plant nutrients and the associated environmental risks to the biosphere. In addition, in-depth discussions on renewable energy will take place.
During ORBIT 2006 discussions will be held on the strategies that can be pursued for the achievement of the different objectives without leading to erroneous trends as a result of competition for raw materials; for example, humus production versus energy production, with which the production of food is endangered. In addition, there will be presentations on the newest technological developments, operation and control of facilities, as well as product specifications and applications.
A particular aspect of the conference will be to address the question of technology application in the region. Organic matter recycling is an important aspect of sustainable development throughout the world; its implementation, however, will have to be strongly adapted to specific regional conditions. From local to global.
